How to Get Here

The Aoraki Mount Cook Mackenzie Region is situated in the middle of New Zealand’s South Island, approximately 2.5 hours drive south of Christchurch and 2.5 hours drive north of Queenstown. The region includes the well known Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki and Lake Ohau and, of course, New Zealand's highest mountain, Aoraki Mount Cook.

The driving is easy along empty roads through the stunning scenery of the Southern Alps and past the most spectacular turquoise blue lakes and canals. As this is an exposed, alpine environment, care must be taken in winter and in high winds.
